recycled & green

A better environment can only be created through the promotion of sustainable development. This means specifying and using products that are energy efficient. Energy saving materials should be incorporated into all new developments.

Design Innovations:

We ensure our designs make optimal use of natural lighting and ventilation, sustainable resources, locally manufactured economical materials, and building methods.

Site Selection and Management:

Sites are selected close to urban area infrastructures and every intention is made to preserve habitat and natural resources. Restoration and protection of habitats are done by means of landscaping and by maximizing the use of open spaces. Pollution reduction through construction activities involve controlling soil erosion, stormwater runoff, water wastage and airborne dust, and protecting topsoil.
Water Use Reduction:
  • Water and power saving tap fittings
  • Eternally Solar Oxygenics showerheads - energy, water and environmental savings resulting in an overall financial saving for the consumer
  • Installation of water purifying systems
  • Multiflush toilet systems
  • Water efficient landscaping:
    • Grey water systems
    • Irrigation systems
    • Indigenous planting
    • Boreholes
Indoor Air Quality:
  • Insulation
  • Ventilation
  • Encouragement of a no-smoking policy
To eliminate the use of the and electrical heating, thereby controlling the indoor environment in accordance with our green policy.
Green Bricks and Retaining Blocks:
Recycled materials are used in the manufacturing of the bricks. The raw materials are locally manufactured in this energy efficient masonry product. The product has good thermal insulation properties and when used in cavity walls, ensure that the building stays warm in winter, and cool in summer, thereby lessening the need for artificial climate control.

Renewable Materials:

  • Sustainable trees
  • Bamboo, cork, and pine
Recycled Materials On site:

Rubble is used as fill and we have on-site preparation of concrete bricks sourced from building rubble on demolition sites. We also provide an on-site dedicated area with recycle bins for glass, paper, and plastic.

Low Emitting Materials:

  • Sealants
  • Adhesives
  • Paints
  • Aerosols

Solar Power Systems:
  • Solar panels and regulators
  • Water and underfloor heating
  • Gas water heaters
  • Heat pumps
  • Energy saving light bulbs
  • Energy saving devices e.g. Digital Geyser thermostat
Larger buildings may have solar collectors linked to a series of geysers, a heat pump and gas water heater as a back-up when no electricity and sun is available.
